Our premium 30/60 mesh almandine garnet is a natural mineral abrasive specially engineered for industrial steel surface preparation and abrasive blasting. As the most widely accepted garnet grade for steel blasting, it features a Mohs hardness of 7.5–8.0 and sub-angular grain shapes, delivering stable cutting performance while forming a uniform, consistent surface profile ideal for subsequent coating, painting and anti-corrosion treatment.
This almandine garnet contains nearly zero free silica, with low soluble chloride content, which effectively avoids silicosis risks and prevents corrosion on steel substrates. Compared with slag abrasives or silica sand, it generates far less fine dust during blasting, meeting strict environmental and occupational safety requirements. The 30/60 mesh particle size balances blasting speed and surface roughness, reliably achieving Sa 2.5 and Sa 3.0 cleanliness standards for carbon steel, alloy steel and structural steel.
It serves core industries including shipbuilding, steel bridges, pressure vessels, steel pipelines and heavy machinery manufacturing. It efficiently removes rust, mill scale, old paint, oxidation layers and surface contaminants without excessive embedding or over-etching the steel base.
