Grade A 80mesh brown fused alumina (brown corundum) abrasive for sandblasting acrylic and glass panels
Grade A 80 mesh brown fused alumina, also called brown corundum, is manufactured by melting premium bauxite in an electric arc furnace, then processed via crushing, shaping, magnetic iron removal and accurate particle classification. Its alumina content reaches 93%–96%, with dense crystal structure, good toughness and reliable self-sharpening performance. The grain size is well-controlled with concentrated main particle size and low fine dust.
This 80 mesh grade is customized for sandblasting acrylic sheets and glass panels. Acrylic and glass are brittle materials. Improper abrasives or excessive blasting pressure may lead to chipping, cracking and heavy scratches. With balanced cutting power, our 80 mesh brown corundum can form a uniform soft matte fog surface under suitable blasting pressure. It eliminates mirror reflection and delivers soft light transmission effect. The roughened surface also improves bonding strength for silk-screen printing, painting and adhesive lamination.
Strict iron removal treatment reduces iron contaminants, avoiding rust spots and residual stains on transparent acrylic and glass surfaces. The grains have regular sharp edges, flow smoothly through blasting nozzles and are not easy to block the gun. It can be recycled many times, bringing great cost advantages compared with silicon carbide abrasives.
It is widely used for acrylic light covers, decorative signs, display panels, instrument windows and ordinary glass matte finishing. We can supply COA certificates and free samples for customer tests. Other mesh sizes are available if you need finer or coarser matte textures for different projects.
