F220 Brown fused alumina for sandblasting copper heat sinks
F220 brown fused alumina, also known as brown corundum abrasive, is produced by smelting high-quality bauxite in an electric arc furnace, followed by crushing, shaping, magnetic separation and precise sizing. It features an Al₂O₃ content of 93%–96%, balanced hardness and excellent toughness, with stable grain shape and good self-sharpening property.
This F220 grade is specially selected for blasting copper heat sinks. Copper is a relatively soft metal. Coarse abrasives tend to leave deep scratches, gouging marks or even deform the thin copper substrate. F220 fine grains deliver mild and uniform cutting force under low-pressure blasting. It can efficiently remove machining lines, burrs, oxide layers and oil contaminants on the surface of copper heat sinks. After blasting, it creates a fine, consistent matte texture, increases surface roughness and specific surface area, greatly improving adhesion for thermal conductive coating, passivation treatment and spray finishing, which helps optimize heat dissipation performance.
Our brown fused alumina goes through strict iron removal processes, minimizing iron impurity residues that would cause rust stains on copper parts. It has a long recycling life and generates moderate dust, perfectly suitable for mass production and automatic blasting lines of heat sinks. Compared with white fused alumina, it offers outstanding cost advantages.
It is widely applied to copper heat sinks for new energy power modules, photovoltaic inverters and industrial control equipment. COA test reports are available upon request, and sample support is provided for customer testing. Multiple other grits are also available to meet different roughness requirements.
